Har Zion USY gives our youth the foundation and opportunity to build lasting friendships with their Jewish peers in the local community, as well as those affiliated at the regional level. We are sponsored by the department of Youth Activities of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism and we are affiliated with the Pacific Southwest Region, also known as the Far West Region. This Region includes California, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, and Nevada.
Har Zion USY includes three groups according to age. They are Kadima, Junior USY and Senior USY. Har Zion's Youth Department offers opportunities to take part in programming that is social, educational, and religious. Senior and Junior USYers plan events, hold leadership positions and join committees. Each group will also take part in giving back to the community by doing community service projects and raising money for charity (Tikun Olam). All three groups will attend Kinnusim, which are regional weekends. At each Kinnus, hundreds of Jewish youth from throughout the region gather together to study, pray, and party the USY way! Har ZionUSYwill provide our youth with memories for life.

KADIMA:
Kadima is for 4th -6th graders. We will be holding fun social events every month as well as lounge nights once a month. Some social events include the favorite “cosmic bowling”, sleep-overs, and fun parks. Like the other groups, Kadima will be attending Kinnusim. There are two Kadima Kinnusim scheduled every year. Kadima weekends give your Kadimanik the opportunity to meet Jewish Peers throughout the region and the state. With a combination of teffilah, education and fun, these weekends are sure to leave a smile on your child's face.

JUNIOR USY:
Jr. USY is for 7th -8th graders. Like Sr. USY, programming is usually scheduled for Saturday nights or Sundays. Programming will be very similar to Sr. USY. Some events include a lock-in at Gameworks, movie nights, Habitat for Humanity and much more. On some occasions, Jr. and Sr. USY will share an event. Lounge nights are also held twice a month in the Youth Lounge. We will eat dinner together and hang out! Jr. USYers will attend regional weekends, also known as Kinnusim. For more information see the Kinnusim section.

SENIOR USY:
Senior USY is for 9th-12th graders. Programming is usually scheduled for Saturday nights or Sundays. Programs in Sr. USYinclude a limo scavenger hunt, mystery bus rides, sports events, and community service projects. These are just an example of the events held every month. Lounge nights are held twice a month in the Youth Lounge. Whether it is to do homework among your friends, or just hang out, lounge nights are your home away from home. Sr. USYers will also be attending regional weekends, known as Kinnusim. For more information see the Kinnusim section.

KINNUSIM:
Both Junior and Senior USY attend the same regional events. The Kinnusim are hosted by different synagogues throughout the region and are planned by USYers. Regional Convention is the biggest weekend of the year held over Memorial Day. There will be scholarships for regional convention based on merit and financial need. Those who attend events throughout the year and dedicate personal time to the youth group will be recognized for the merit scholarship. So start getting involvedNOW!
