The primary goal of the Kirshner-Shoenholtz Early Childhood Center at Har Zion is to provide a quality Jewish program through a happy stimulating environment. With the firm belief that each youngster is unique, possessing certain abilities and having particular needs, it is our goal to encourage the growth of the “whole child” through physical, social, and spiritual development. Organized daily schedules will allow for “hands on” exploration to further creative thinking, independence and problem solving. Providing for small group activities will strengthen the youngster’s social skills, self-esteem and teamwork abilities. A balance of teacher-directed and child-directed activities serve to reinforce, enrich, and challenge the children in a setting where they are respected as individuals.
"When searching for a preschool for our first child we were really nervous and uncertain as new parents. We looked at many schools and after visiting Har Zion Early Childhood Center, the worries and questions disappeared. As a result, we now have a 3 1/2-year-old son who has a passion to learn and wakes up every morning asking if he gets to go to school today. Just this past year, with no hesitation, we enrolled our infant daughter into Har Zion ECC knowing that she would be safe, have fun, and most importantly, that she would receive the same love and attention that our son was given. We can't say enough about the care and devotion the teachers, staff, and directors have shown to our children over the past three and a half years. Har Zion ECC is a very safe and comfortable environment for them. A big ‘thank you' for all the support, respect, education and nurturing that has been given to our children- as well as our whole family!" - Ryan and Alicia O'Loughlin
The pre-school years are an important time for learning, as youngsters are full of wonder. They are curious about their world and have a great thirst for knowledge. With this in mind, the Kirshner-Shoenholtz Early Childhood Center provides a stimulating environment for growth and development and a warm, loving place to grow.
"I just wanted to express my feelings as to how wonderful our preschool experience has been over the past five years. When your children enroll at Har Zion, your entire family becomes part of Har Zion. As I am very active with the school PAT, I have been witness to the warmth and nurturing that each and every child receives throughout the school year. The progress and growth that my children have shown day to day, month to month, and year to year is a direct testament to the hard work that your teachers put in on a daily basis. I never thought that not only my children, but my entire family would receive so much from a preschool experience. When I speak of Har Zion, it has only my highest recommendation." - Amanda Resnick
