DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Music Week at Har Zion!\nWe are offering two short concerts at Har Zion during the third week of August:\n\nWednesday, August 19, 6pm: Music of the Romantic Era (below)\nSunday, August 23, 4pm: Music of the Baroque Era ( https://www.harzion.org/events/baroque-music-harpsichord-bassoon )\n\nMusic of the Romantic Era\nOn Wednesday, August 19, at 6pm, come to Har Zion for a concert of Romantic music with Heather Peterson on piano and Charles Shapera on bassoon.\nThe Program:\nA program listing to come.\nThe Artists:\nOak Park pianist Heather Peterson\nHeather Peterson on Piano\nAn accomplished classical pianist, Heather Peterson holds a Master’s degree in piano performance from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music (CCM), and a Bachelor’s degree in piano from Northern Illinois University. \nHeather is also a founding member of the rock band Hello Industry with her husband, singer/songwriter Nathan Peterson.\nHar Zion’s own Charles Shapera\nCharles Shapera on Basson \nCharles Shapera is a longtime member of Temple Har Zion, having been a student in Koven Religious School, our Torah reader, a Hebrew school teacher, youth group director. He now also serves as executive director at Har Zion.\nAn accomplished musician, Charles performs on the bassoon in the United States and internationally, as a member of several orchestras and chamber ensembles. Charles taught Instrumental Music (Band) for 20 years before becoming the Executive Director of Temple Har Zion. He maintains a private music studio teaching all the wind instruments and piano.\n \n
