Tour the Jewish Waldheim Cemetary with Har Zion member Michael Bass and Abby Schmelling, coordinator of the Jewish Waldheim—Stories and Memories Facebook page and author of a new book about Waldheim.

Mike arranged this event in honor of his wife, Ilene Bass z’l. Ilene was assistant director at Waldheim; she shared her knowledge and conducted tours of Waldheim for many years. It is particularly fitting, because August 2 is Ilene’s birthday.

Har Zion has a set of plots at Waldheim; many deceased Har Zion members and their families are buried there.

The tour is at the cemetery, 1500 Desplaines Ave, Forest Park. It’s south of 16th Street. Use Harlem Avenue Entrance, then use Levi Road to Blue Road. Bring a chair.
