4th Annual Shofar Walk in the Park
During the month of Elul, the last month of the Jewish calendar, the shofar is blown every morning at minyan.
In celebration of this, Temple Har Zion presents “Shofar Walk in the Park,” a stroll from the temple to Austin Gardens Park, 167 Forest Ave, Oak Park, where we will enjoy the shofar, songs, and ice cream.
Come to the temple and walk, slowly, with us to the park, sounding the shofar as we go, or meet us in the park.
Your pets are welcome to join in the fun!
Walk with us or meet us at the park. Bring your family and friends. We will walk slowly and enjoy each other’s company along the way. We will sing together and prepare our hearts for this most precious and sacred time of the year. This year Shofar in the Park is being held in the morning, and the Koven Religious School students will be joining the walk. (Parents should pick their students up at Austin Gardens.)
And, we will have special activities for our youngest children at the park.
Maimonides teaches that the Shofar is the blast that wakes us up to spiritual alertness for a sweet and good new year!
Join us! Registration is not required.
