Being Israeli After Gaza: D’var Torah and Lunch & Learn Talk with Ariel Beery
Being Israeli After Gaza: A Conversation with Ariel Beery, author, commentator, and entrepreneur.
Ariel Beery will give the d’var Torah during the service. The conversation on it will continue during kiddush after the service, when he and Har Zion member Michael Zmora be in conversation on this topic.
As Israelis and Jews around the world continue to wrestle with the aftermath of October 7 and the devastating war in Gaza, many have struggled to find language for holding grief, responsibility, criticism, connection, and hope all at once. In his new book, Being Israeli After the Destruction of Gaza, American-born Israeli Ariel Beery explores these tensions through a series of conversations with liberal Israeli thinkers, activists, journalists, and civil society leaders who remain deeply committed both to Israel and to the work of building a more just and democratic future.
Learn more about Beery from his recent commentaries for The Times of Israel, and from his aliyah story, The Entrepreneur Committed to Saving Lives.
