Friday in the Foyer Kabbalat Shabbat Service

Welcome Shabbat “up close” with family and friends in Har Zion’s beautiful foyer. On comfortable couches and chairs under the colorful Engen Tapestries, our voices will blend together pleasingly in a new hamish intimate space. See you there!

Lighting Shabbat Candles

Lighting Shabbat candles is an important part of the Friday evening Shabbat service, and, starting April 18, 2025, you will have the opportunity to light Shabbat candles before the service.

With our start time of 5:30pm, you’ll be able to come after work and join our intimate, 45 minute service, and still have time afterwards for a Shabbat dinner. But also note that, on some Fridays when we have special programs, the service may be held in the sanctuary, and perhaps it will begin at 6:30pm.
