Jewish Community & Friends for Democracy Candidate Evaluations
Longtime Congressman of the 7th District, Danny Davis, is retiring and over a dozen candidates are vying for his seat. On March 17, 2026, there will be a winner-takes-all primary.
Jewish Community & Friends for Democracy is a community group of Oak Park and River Forest Democratic voters who are calling upon the leaders of the Democratic party to address the appalling rise of antisemitic hate on both the Left and the Right. To that end, the group has conducted detailed evaluations—including in-person interviews and background research—of the top 10 candidates on issues of antisemitism, Zionism, and positions regarding Israel.
No candidates will be present at this event nor will any be endorsed. Representatives of the group are coming to Har Zion solely to present their findings. The group states: “JC&F4Democracy does not endorse candidates. We evaluate and research candidates and seek to educate candidates about the issues of concern to our specific community.”
Please note that Har Zion is only providing a location where this information can be presented. As a house of worship, Temple Har Zion does not and will not express any preferences or endorse any political candidate.
