Purim! Pizza, Costumes, Megillah, and Groggers!
This year, Purim begins on the evening of March 13. Come to Har Zion on that evening for fun and celebration!
The fun starts at 6pm, with Purim Pizza Party (for all ages).
Register for Pizza Party
Then, there is a brief Purim service at 6:30pm. And finally, we will read the Megillah, the Book of Esther. We are planning on having a bunch of fun things between chapters, including First Chapter bingo for the kids, and music by our very own Owen Frankel and his band for everyone. We will read the entire Megillah, but you are welcome to leave between chapters if you need to. (And Charles has promised to use his best and fastest davening speed for his chapters!)
We’ll need groggers, of course, to shake every time we hear Haman’s name. Please bring a box of kosher macaroni and cheese to shake for that purpose. We will collect them at the end of the evening and donate them to the The Ark. Thank you!
There will be a costume parade, so, everyone, come in your best Sushan costume!
And don’t forget to come to Har Zion again on Sunday, beginning at 11am, for our annual Purim Carnival!
