Purim! Pizza, Costumes, Megillah, Spiel, and Groggers!
This year, Purim begins on the evening of Monday, March 2nd. Come to Har Zion on that evening for fun and celebration!
- The fun starts at 6pm, with Purim Pizza Party (for all ages).
- Then, there is a brief Purim service at 6:30pm,
- And finally, we will read the Megillah, the Book of Esther. We are planning on having a bunch of fun things between chapters, including a Beatle-themed Purim Spiel. (Complete with paraodies of Beatles’ songs!) We need 13 adults (13+ years) to enact the spiel; please volunteer!
We will read the entire Megillah, but you are welcome to leave between chapters if you wamt/need to. (And Charles has promised to use his best and fastest davening speed for his chapters!)
Everyone—including adults!—are encourage to come in costume!
We’ll need groggers, of course, to shake every time we hear Haman’s name. Please bring a box of kosher macaroni and cheese to shake for that purpose. We will collect them at the end of the evening and donate them to the The Ark. Thank you!
Registration for the Pizza Party is required and will come later. Registration is not needed just to attend the service/megillah reading/spiel.
And don’t forget the Purim Carnival, Sunday, March 1!
