Rosh Hashanah Schedule/Service

Har Zion members in good standing are automatically eligible for High Holy Day tickets; pick them up from the usher station when you arrive for your first High Holy Day service. Most others must purchase tickets.

High Holy Days Season Events and Registration has full information on the High Holy Day season at Har Zion, including details and links for tickets, links to sign up for Childcare and Camp Shana Tovah, additional services, and much more.

As with all Har Zion services, all Rosh Hashanah services are livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube, and you can also sign up to join on Zoom. (Members will receive the Zoom information automatically by email, and non-members when they obtain tickets.)

• 6-7:30pm – Erev Rosh Hashanah Service
• 6:29pm – Candle lighting (River Forest).

Tuesday, September 23, 2025 • 1 Tishrei 5786

• 8:45am-2pm – Rosh Hashanah Services | Shacharit
• 10:00am-1:00pm  – Childcare for preschool children ages 18 months-5 years. You or another delegated responsible adult must remain at Har Zion while your preschool child is in childcare. (register here)
• 10-10:45qm – Camp Shana Tovah Service for preschool children with a responsible adult.
• 11am-end of Main Service – Childcare for preschool children ages 18 months-5 years. (register here)
• For School-aged children – You or another delegated responsible adult must remain at Har Zion while your child is at Camp Shana Tovah.
• about 10:45am – Your child is encouraged to join you in the Main Service for the Shofar blast.
• 11-10:45am – Camp Shana Tovah Service for K-6 children, followed by snack, games, and supervision until end of service. (register here)
• 12:30-1pm – Teen discussion (grades 8-12)
• About 2:45-3:30pm – Tashlich at Thatcher Glen Pond, Thatcher Woods, entrance to parking is on Chicago Ave, just between Thatcher and 1st Avenue; location on Google Maps
• 7:28pm – Candle lighting (River Forest)
