With Purim approaching, come laugh your touchas off with this month’s “The Yiddish hour” with Cantor Figa! We’ll be listening to comedy songs, some all in Yiddish and some in the hilarious hybrid of “Yinglish.”
Explore the songs and parodies that kept your parents and grandparents in stitches. We’ll hear the likes of jokester and master musician Mickey Katz who in the 1950s through the mid-60s paved the way for Alan Sherman and down the line for Adam Sandler.
Hear popular hits by other comic geniuses like Leo Fuchs, Menashe Skulnick, Aaron Lebedeff, and Molly Picon. If you ever felt lost when the set up was in English, and the punchline was in Yiddish, Cantor Figa will explain word for word all this side-splitting Yiddishe mishegas!
