Training for Volunteer Har Zion Greeters/Ushers
Antisemitic acts targeting individuals and places of worship have increased dramatically in the past sixteen months. As a community, there are concrete steps we can take to reduce the risks to our congregation.
If you attend this training, directed by our own Michael Weinstein and sponsored by the Community Security Service, you will learn about recent examples of security successes and failures, and what we can do to deter threat actors and mitigate threats if they do occur at Har Zion.
In particular, you’ll learn how to be an effective Shabbat greeter, welcoming known congregants while carefully vetting unknown individuals prior to allowing them inside.
Please register early, as there is a high-yield and engaging online module that needs to be completed in order to receive certification. This training is a must for board members and highly recommended for any temple member interested in being a greeter.
