Tasting Fruits on Tu B’Shvat & The Essence of Brachot
Sunday, February 1, 2026, 10:15am
There is a custom on Tu B’Shvat to conduct a Tu B’Shvat Seder, and eat a variety of fruits to mark the new year of the trees. Some link this custom to a teaching of the Talmudic teaching “In the future, a person will give a judgement and an accounting over everything that his eye saw and what he did not eat. ” In this class, we will explore the concept of making blessings over food, and how we can understand taking pleasure in eating as a religious imperative which deepens our connection with God.
