We are offering two short concerts at Har Zion during the third week of August:

Music of the Romantic Era

On Wednesday, August 19, at 6pm, come to Har Zion for a concert of Romantic music with Heather Peterson on piano and Charles Shapera on bassoon.

The Artists:

Oak Park pianist Heather Peterson

Heather Peterson on Piano

An accomplished classical pianist, Heather Peterson holds a Master’s degree in piano performance from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music (CCM), and a Bachelor’s degree in piano from Northern Illinois University. 

Heather is also a founding member of the rock band Hello Industry with her husband, singer/songwriter Nathan Peterson.

Har Zion’s own Charles Shapera

Charles Shapera on Basson

Charles Shapera is a longtime member of Temple Har Zion, having been a student in Koven Religious School, our Torah reader, a Hebrew school teacher, youth group director. He now also serves as executive director at Har Zion.

An accomplished musician, Charles performs on the bassoon in the United States and internationally, as a member of several orchestras and chamber ensembles. Charles taught Instrumental Music (Band) for 20 years before becoming the Executive Director of Temple Har Zion. He maintains a private music studio teaching all the wind instruments and piano.
