  • Sunday, July 26, 2pm • 12 Av. Har Zion is celebrating Tu b'Av, the "Jewish Valentine's day," on the Sunday before, with a showing of the Metropolitan Opera's contemporary Jewish opera The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, with Prosecco and snacks.

• Yiddish Silent Film with Live Piano Sunday, August 9 • 26 Av, 7pm.
  Dessert and screening of a 1923 silent film with bilingual captions—Yiddish and English—starring Molly Picon, accompanied, as it should be, with live, improvised piano music by pianist and composer Dr. Larry Schanker! (registration)
• Sisterhood Golf and/or Pizza Dinner, Sunday, August 16, 1:30pm golf and about 5pm pizza dinner. (Don't golf? Don't want to golf? Come just for dinner!) (registration)
• Music Week at Har Zion
  • Wednesday, August 19, 6pm • 6 Elul – Short concert of Romantic Music on piano and bassoon, with Charles Shapera and local pianist Heather Peterson.
  • Sunday, August 23, 4pm • 10 Elul – Short concert of Baroque Music on harpsichord and bassoon, with Har Zion member Leah Miller on harpsichord, and Reuben Karp and Charles Shapera on bassoon.
• Har Zion Back to Shul BBQ, Erev Shabbat, Friday, August 28  • 15 Elul, outdoors weather permitting.
  • Shabbat on the Lawn for Preschoolers with Ms Claudine, 5pm. (registration includes registration to the Back-to-Shul BBQ meal)
  • Back-to-Shul BBQ, 5:30pm.  (registration)
  • Musical Kabbalat Shabbat, 6:30-7:30pm.  (no registration)
• Minyan & Kiddush in the Western Suburbs, Sunday, August 30 • 17 Elul, at 10:30am. At the home of a Western Suburban member. Come for Minyan, Kiddush and the sounding of the Shofar. (registration)
